COMBINED METHOD OF EXPLAINING ENGLISH GRAMMAR TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Abstracts

Introduction. The article studies existing methods of grammar teaching and grammar skill formation. It proves that none of the existing methods as it is complies with the Russian-speaking students while learning a foreign language.

Materials and Methods. The main research methods involve analysis of scientific literature on the problem of grammar teaching, grammar skill formation and communicative theory of a second language teaching. The author also used diagnostic tools such as observation and experiment.

Results. The author determines the need for a new method specific for the Russian-speaking students in the process of a second language acquisition. The author works out a method combining grammar-translation and communicative methods. The experiment held proves relevance of the method.

Discussion. The author outlines that the effectiveness of the worked out method is based on the cognitive faculties of the students.

Conclusion. The author makes the point that the worked out method speeds up grammar skills formation and forms grammar competence as well as goes in line with developing cognitive interest and creating positive atmosphere in the English learning classroom.
